Resident Involvement

Green Faced Child

Involving our Residents

We will provide a range of opportunities for residents to work with us to continue to improve our housing and related services and achieve our corporate aims. The approach will be inclusive and supportive so that residents from a range of different circumstances are able to participate if they want to.

We recognise that good businesses in touch and aware of their customers’ views will be in a better position to tailor service to their needs. This, in turn, will lead to increased resident satisfaction with the housing organisation which has a positive impact on our reputation in the sector.

The aims of resident involvement are to:

• deliver a resident involvement structure that is externally validated;
• engage with our residents on issues that affect their homes and the way
  that they are managed;
• provide a variety of methods by which residents can become involved in our
  management and decision making processes;
• review the structure and effectiveness of resident involvement;
• provide a budget for central resident involvement activities which will be
  monitored by residents;
• raise the level of resident awareness of the choices for participation;
• increase the number of residents experiencing the benefits of resident
  involvement;
• deliver our resident involvement activities in a fair and inclusive manner;
• make resident involvement the responsibility of all staff to embed it across
  the organisation;
• have clear measurable outcomes for resident involvement activities;
• develop partnership working.

Residents' Conference 2009

Our Residents Conference was held on 25 March 2009 and was a great success, with more than 140 residents and other visitors on the day.

Chief Executive Paul Eastwood spoke about how residents will be able to get involved in setting our priorities for the corporate plan and Three Valleys resident Sue Brodie spoke about the work residents have done to ensure that residents can have a meaningful say in the work that we do.

A selection of the photographs from the event can be seen below.

Resident Involvement Strategy

Three Valleys Housing's Resident Involvement Strategy was launched in September 2007. The strategy sets out how we will involve our residents in our decision making processes and how we intend to further enhance their involvement in the future.
