Preparations for two events to mark UK Older People’s Day are well underway at Three Valleys Housing.
On Friday 3 October, we are hosting two ‘coffee, cakes and crafts’ events at Monyash Close, Ilkeston and Hart Lea, Sandiacre. The events will run from 1.00pm until 3.30pm.
Our Area Manager, Sarah Trueman, said, “Older People’s Day is all about making older people feel valued and included in society. We have organised two events to bring people together and to celebrate their contribution to society.”
She continued, “We will also be demonstrating some card making and other craft activities and we hope to have some advisors on hand to help older people keep fit and active.”
The event also marks the re-launch of the community lounge at Monyash Close. Three Valleys’ Community Carelink Officer, Elaine Winfield and her family and friends have given up their time to re-decorate the community lounge to make it a friendly and welcoming place for local residents to use again.
