Residents and staff from Three Valleys Housing raised more than £280 for charity on Friday 3 October, when they celebrated UK Older People’s Day.

Residents and staff from Three Valleys Housing raised more than £280 for charity on Friday 3 October, when they celebrated UK Older People’s Day.
At events at Town Street, Sandiacre and Monyash Close, Ilkeston, residents enjoyed tea and cakes, craft displays and held a raffle to raise money for McMillan Cancer Support and the Breast Cancer Campaign.
The funds raised at Monyash Close will be donated to the fundraising campaign of Jane Singer, a Cotmanhay resident who is planning a parachute jump later this month to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign.
Sarah Trueman, Area Manager for Three Valleys Housing was one of the event organisers. She said, "Everyone had a lovely afternoon and we are delighted to be able to raise so much money for such worthy causes."
